Vegas Baby, Vegas!

*****disclaimer: I know the formatting of this post is messed up- but I can't seem to fix it.  Sorry. *****

We had a great trip!   We had lots of adventures and did even more walking!  Vegas is really a theme park for grown ups.  Disney for the over 21 crowd.

Luckily we had beautiful weather, sunny everyday and warm but usually with a breeze.

I took 608 pictures over 4 days, so this is a very pared down selection.

More than once walked the strip, and explored the many hotels. We stayed at the Mirage, which was nice.  Not huge andoverwhelming like most of them.  I enjoyed relaxing by their very pretty pool.

But my favorite hotel was the Bellagio.   The lobby, the dancing water, the conservatory- it was all beautiful.

The Venetian is also really cool to walk around.

We saw the Penn and Teller show.  Awesome!  They were very funny and did some great tricks. We were shocked when we walked out of the auditorium after the show to see…. Penn and Teller signing autographs and posing for pictures.

One afternoon was spent watching animals at Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden.  It was an awesome place!  You could get really close to the animals, and the trainers engaging them in a lot of play. There was a 4 week old dolphin who swam and played with his mother.  And there were 5 month old baby tigers.  Some of them were taking naps on a branch and others were playing with balls, cardboard boxes and the trainer.  They were so cute!!!!  There were also lions, leopards, and cheetahs.  I loved spending time there.

We took a (very long) day trip to the Grand Canyon.   Which of course was huge and beautiful. And we got to drive on the original route 66 through a very cute town, a little “Cars” like.

The next day we spent some more time checking out the Hoover Dam.  It was also huge.

We enjoyed our year old wedding cupcakes.  They were (surprisingly) tasty.  If they tasted this good after being defrosted and  year later, I can only image how good they were the first time around (since we only got the bite we fed each other).

And of course being Vegas and our 1st anniversary, we renewed our vows at a drive up wedding chapel.

Looks like you and the hubby had a great trip! How funny - a drive through chapel! They should serve milkshakes after the "I Do's"!

Thanks Ladies! It was a great time. And the drive up window was fun. I didn't expect to feel nervous- but I kind of did.
