Freezer Food Review

Last week I shared a list of foods I made and froze in preparation for the school year.  I said after we had each dish, I'd try to give a little review to help anyone else out there. Last week we had the Pesto Chicken Stuff Manicotti.

Review~

Before being baked- still frozen

After baking

They were tasty but next time we'd make a few changes:

-the recipe said to bake for 30 min, since we didn't thaw it first I thought they might take a bit longer...but we should have done 20 min (although we have a convention oven which cooks a bit faster)

-they weren't very filling...maybe more chicken next time?

-they were cheesy but could use a bit more flavor, maybe mix in more pesto

-definitely need to be baked with a sauce, next time I'll top with pesto

- they need more cheese on top

-would also be really tasty with goat cheese

What have you been cooking?

I love my (J.) Crew

This is another "opps, I meant to post this two weeks ago" post. Have you heard about the J.Crew Online Factory Store?

I'm not sure that it is as cheap as their outlet stores, but it sure beats waiting in line at the outlets.  Only two drawbacks, first unlike at the brick and mortar outlet you cannot use a teacher discount online.  And second, any returns need to be mailed back or brought to an outlet not a regular J Crew store.

Happy Shopping!

Thanks Chelsea!

Back to School Shopping

I've been searching out back-to-school sales, not just for classroom supplies but also clothes.  As much fun as it always is to  buy fall clothes; I've also decided I need to change up (or grow up) my look a bit for my new job.
Well, the online clothing site Shade is closing.

My shopping cart included:

     BLAZER JACKET

  DOLMAN DRESS

I'll pair this with a wide black belt

   D-RING JACKET

POPLIN SHIRT DRESS

What's on your "back-to-school" shopping list?  Are you going to snag something from Shade?

PSA: Free Photo Book

*smooch*

How sweet is this?

I "commissioned" (it's totally free) it here, however I first learned about this fun site from here. I don't know what, if anything, I'm going to do with it yet. Ideas?

I might request another one because since the ampersand is missing.

***Free Paint!

Glidden is giving away free quarts of eggshell paint; there are lots of colors to pick from. But you have to do it by July 2nd (or until they run out). Go HERE to pick, your paint will be mailed to you in 3-4 weeks. I picked Rich Navy, I don't really have a use in mind for the paint but it is a color that would work in almost any of my rooms. One idea is to use it for the trash pile chairs, then use a blue and cream fabric for the seats. We'll see...
