Summer Green

A sign of summer- fresh made pesto!  (although as John pointed out, the basil wasn't fresh from my garden)  I love, love fresh pesto!  On pasta, potatoes, toasty bread with cheese, meats, as a dip- there are so many yummy ways to enjoy pesto.  In the summer season, I must make a batch (often a double) weekly.

On this night we choose to use it as a sauce for a grilled pizza.  We used Trader Joe's pesto crust, our fresh pesto, fresh mozzarella cheese, and a bit of crumbled bacon(this little nugget was John's idea- and a great one, the little bit of salt and crispy texture brought it all together) and then tossed the whole thing on the grill.  Fabulous "welcome summer" dinner!

I swear this picture was rotated- I tried to upload it twice

Looks delicious. I'm a pesto fan but my husband isn't really on the pesto train yet. I'll have to work on him.

I love pesto - and believe it or not, I've never made it myself. Will you share your recipe? I've never thought to put it on potatoes but delicious!

Pesto is my all time favorite food - Pesto Pasta would be my last meal request! Your pizza looks delicious, too. We really should know each other in real life, I think we're pretty much the same person!
