Serving Suggestion

My new school has a Monday Lunch Group.  If you join the group then you (and a few others) are assigned one Monday every 6ish weeks to bring a dish to share.  Then the other weeks you get the enjoy a "free lunch".  Kind of a fun way to start the week.

Well next Monday it is my turn.  What should I bring?  There are a lot of salads and pastas, so I'd like to do something different.
Other criteria:
-needs to feed 15-20
-have to make it the night before  (i.e. simple)- then transported to school
-a crockpot is an option but no oven/stove
-no bowls/spoons
-tasty!

Thanks! (I'll share the final recipe next week)

If it's still rainy, you could bring chili. I guess that's not really a side dish, but it would reheat well in a crockpot.

If there is microwave access you could make something like Mrs. B's chicken dish and then everyone reheats their portion. We do that at work all the time at our potlucks. This isn't different but a fruit salad is always good. A crowd pleaser that I have made is sliced fresh pineapple with oranges...and a few strawberries or such for color. It is quite refreshing!

Is this supposed to be a side dish? I'm thinking main dishes here.

How about crock pot meatballs and you can bring hoagie rolls and mozzerella for meatball subs? That would be yummy, easy and different.

What a great idea!

I'd definitely look at the crock pot idea - what about bbq and a couple of sauces? Or chili and bring chips and cheese? Then you could make chili nachos.
