Seasons of Fun for a Buck

As we do each October,  we attended our homecoming at JMU.   There are always many things on my To-Do list while in the 'burg; since I started teaching that has included a trip the the Dollar Tree.  This store is large, well organized, and clean.  In exchange for $6 these babies came home with me.

please excuse the construction tools and holiday decor mess

After ten minutes and some liquid nails,  I had these~

Remember when I showed you these beauties as part of my Thanksgiving decor last week?

I have three of these elevated glass holders (do these count as hurricanes?).  My sister and I filled them with (faux) mini gourds and wrapped some jute rope around the stems.

Together they were lined up on the mantel.

Think of all the uses!  For Christmas, I'm deciding between ornaments, holly and candles.  And of course for other seasons- candles, acorns, leaves, flowers.......so many options.  I'm looking forward  to making some more using different sizes and patterns.

What items do you re-purpose for the seasons?

VERY cute crafty idea, Leigh!! I didn't even realize they were originally 2 separate pieces.

Very cute, Leigh. These look really nice and I wouldn't have ever thought they didn't come like that.
