Yesterday I shared the first of my newer holiday tradition-
gingerbread houses. Today's Christmas tradition has a bit more history- our cookie and cocktail party. I LOVE
Christmas cookies. Every year my mom makes a dozen different types of cookies....cookies that are only made for Christmas. Yup, you can only enjoy them for a few weeks a year.
This tradition involves some of my favorite things- baking, decorating, and friends. I was looking for a fun, simple holiday celebration and a reason to bake all the cookies....thus our
Cookies and Cocktails Party was born.
cookies
more cookies
And even more cookies
Yes, there were many leftovers, but no one complains about leftover cookies.
The bar- we had red, white, and dessert wines. There was a different liquors for people to design their own drinks. However, the house cocktail of the night was Harvest Punch. It was a big hit, at least there were no leftovers.
Harvest Punch:
apple cider
prosecco
butterscotch schnapps
all to taste
float cranberries
After taking this photo I was too busy having fun to take more photos.
What kind of holiday party do you throw?

So fun! I have thrown a cookie exchange for the past two years! Maybe some cocktails are just what the party needs!
This sounds super fun - and yummy! We only throw a Thanksgiving party and then just attend others parties all Christmas!
Cookies and cocktails sounds like fun! I will have to keep it in mind for next year!
