Lucky Number...
Thank you all for the sweet birthday wishes. I enjoyed reading about all your birthday celebrations, from the swimming parties that were similar to my summer beach parties to the birthday treat disaster.

Giveaway
I've been inspired to do my first blog giveaway. My birthday is this weekend, and thought Lauren's give-a-gift-for-my-birthday was sweet, so I've copied her (hope that's okay Lauren).
One of my favorite shopping sites, behind etsy, is Amazon. You can buy anything from them; books, shower curtains, food, the list goes on and on. I'll be passing on the birthday fun with a $20 amazon.com gift certificate.

Some of the 46 items currently in my shopping cart:
The giveaway will close at midnight on 8/22. I'll announce the winner the next day.
To enter (one entry per person) leave me a comment sharing your favorite birthday celebration. And make sure I know how to get in touch with you!

Birthday Bear
Remember how I told you I've been busy celebrating some birthdays? Here are some pictures from one very important birthday!
Wanna know his favorite recipe?
1 scoop of double churned (gotta watch the puppy figure) vanilla ice cream
a chicken flavored treat
bbq sauce
sprinkles of cheddar cheese
I guess it was tasty.

All Wrapped Up
I borrowed some creativity from the inspiring G&D this weekend when wrapping a housewarming/birthday gift. I used some kitchen towels (and the ribbon they were packaged with) to wrap up a pot of herbs, some olive oil and artisan pasta. Simpler, and more practical than paper!

It is fitting that tonight is the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics- it is also the closing of my summer. Tomorrow I go back to work- I really don’t want to go. I am very sad (and more than a bit stressed) about starting another year.
returning from our honeymoon
At least I had a super fun birthday weekend or as John named it “Lee-Lee Gras”. On Friday, I got to see Momma Mia- very funny but not as good as the play, go to Ikea, and eat mozzarella sticks. Chester got a new stuffed indoor soccer ball- he is very excited about it!
Saturday we went to Rehoboth Beach (DE), I got to test out my birthday gift from John. (Chester got me flowers) Rehoboth was pretty nice- we had a great time! The water was perfect- great temp and good waves! After leaving the beach- we had a great seafood dinner at Jake’s. We bought some saltwater taffy and fudge for the 3 hour ride home. It was a long day but a perfect end to my birthday weekend!
I’m going to try to enter tomorrow- calm and with a smile. Wish me luck!

However, I did make some infused oils. One is rosemary fresh from our garden, and the other is garlic. I can’t wait to try them out! Any recipe ideas?
